Ran across some real deals on new Karavan boat trailers.
They are near Gurney Illinois.
I got me one and thought I would pass the info on to fellow boaters.

Karavan 2000# galvanized bunk - $695 !!

I bought one of these for my parents 2 years ago, paid $1299.

Karavan 3100# with brakes, white - $895 !! These usually go for $1700+

They are on ebay motors. easy to find, search "Karavan boat trailer ".
These are really good trailers, welded solid, tough, adjustable bunks, with tongue dolly.

Wow thats a good deal, makes you wonder if fixing an old trailer is worth it.

Re: Got a great deal on a new trailer.

Well, I picked mine up on Saturday am.
Really thought about buying a second one, but then would need to buy another boat to put on it.

The 3100# w/brake trailer looked really nice, but the winch post would not adjust far enough back for my 16' boat.

Yeah, you really couldn't justify fixing an older brakes trailer, for the price of these.

THEY HAD A LOT OF OTHER NEAT OR HARD TO FIND STUFF IN THEIR STORE, some at bargain prices, some at normal prices. They had a 6' x 30' museum of old outboards on display, some real head turners.

if this is the place I am thinking of I may have to make a road trip.

A 2009 Galvanized Karavan 4100# is what my new 2008 Maxum came with. I think it they are great trailers - no problems so far. And, with the "self centering" bunks it is a breeze to retrieve the boat either by hand or idling on.

Yeah, Gurnee, I have been misspelling that one for 30 years.

Its Ahlstrand Marine, then there is Great Lakes Skipper / Kendor Marine in Franklin Wisconsin. You can get tons and tons of surplus marine gear at those 2 places.

Guess i didn't realize the value of a good Karavan trailer.. I bought mine with a 14' arkansas traveller, and a vintage 1969 9.5 motor for 750.00 couple months ago. Trailer was in mint shape.
