Re: Goodbye Mr. Rogers

Peter what the hell are you talking about? Fred Rogers is not gay. Try to use your head a little more often. He has a devoted wife and two kids. He applied his life for a very worthy and simple idea and for little gain for himself. Just because he is soft spoken in no way means he is gay. This has to be one of the most idotic things I have read on this forum. I for one have fond memories of Fred Rogers and I really hope someone will carry on the torch. Fred had a very simple idea and kept it that way through changing and evermore complicated times. He realized that a lot of the time a simple idea is best.

Don't know if he was gay or not and being married with kids doesn't mean he was not gay.
There are a lot of gay people in the world that are married and have kids. It is just two different sides of their lives.
Not making this a gay or not gay debate.
He had work in the media field in the entertainment of children for almost 50 years.
He was a good person that was viewed by a lot of kids and he will be missed. :(

Re: Goodbye Mr. Rogers

As a kid I did not like the MR. Roger's show myself. I did like the trolley through the wall and tried to think of all kinds of ways to convince my parents to let me cut a hole in the wall of my room. Mr. Rogers was a good role model for kids. He will be missed.

Oh brother!!

What is the point to label a mild-mannered family man (with a certainly effeminate voice), who spent a lifetime helping our kids cope with our f***ed up world, gay?

How do you know he was gay?

I hope nobody thinks for a minute there are not plenty of beer drinkin', football watchin', bass boat ownin' good ole boys, out there that don't share sleeping bags.

Didn't anybody see the movie "Deliverance"?

Let's get real.

Snapperbait I thought it did because I felt it importiant to show that no matter what a person's personal preferences in anything are they still can be a positive role model for millions. I would have e-mailed this but you did not have an e-mail. I edited my posts and ask everyone responding or referencing mine to do the same.

Re: Goodbye Mr. Rogers

Guys...I don't usually debate or take part in discussing controversial issues but I got to take exception here. Fred Rogers is gone, God Bless Him, after a long life of touching peoples hearts and trying to teach children how to be good and appreciate each other no matter who they are. He caried out his life's misson to the fullest. Now is not the time to bring up issues like the above. Is there anybody out there that wasn't touched by him or have children that didn't set and watch him? Let him rest. Remember him for what he tried to do in his life. Sorry if I have offended any one on the forum.
