The Trailer that came with our new boat has 205/75 r14 Good Year Marathon Radials on it, and I wanted to know if these were good tires or not. I thought they were, but had heard on another board someone talking about having multiple blow outs with them. Anyone? Thanx..

I have them on my travel and boat trailers and they have held up fine. I run max air per info on sidewalls.

Re: Good YEar Marathon Radials Any Good?

The reputation of the Goodyear Marathon is the only reason I spent more money on them vs. saving a minimum of $20.00 a tire on lesser trailer tires.

The original trailer tires were GoodYear Bias ply from 1988 that came with the trailer. Had tons of tread left but the sidewalls were showing signs of dry rot, old age and sun damage.

Make sure that when you do replace your trailer tires, BUY only TRAILER TIRES and DO NOT ignore the weight range.

Then maintain them and cover them from the weather/sun and they will last for thousands of miles (sorry, flats from debris not with standing).

Mike.

P.S., my Terry travel trailer has Marathon's as well.
