Still need to do a little troubleshooting, but I am pretty sure my manifolds are shot (Thanks, Don S for the help). Anyone know of a good source for these? I need them for a '91 Mercruiser 5.0.

Re: Good source for new manifolds?

shop around! some have free delivery, which can add up. some dealers have specials. myself, I found most 'specials' were for GM products and I run a Ford. The best price I was able to come up with was from, Marine partsfinders in fla. They are a 'middle man' type operation from what I understand. I worked 'em! I provided a parts list W/numbers, (NAPA numbers caused I checked them too). I also supplied them W/ pricing information from Ebasicpower.com . recieved quality parts at a fair price. I dealt with jon@marineparts.com. He was very good about returning email and phone calls, (pre hurricanes). I also ordered seal kits. One time a $30.00 part was on the invoice but not packaged. 1 email and two days later it was here! no quibbling!
You can try marine manifold as a keyword and come up with parts listings.
I think I would stay away from ebay on these, as often the damage is out of veiw, even w/ the part in your hand!
Have you pressure tested yours? you can do it @ home with a little cajuniuity! don't forger your risers either...sl

Go to ebasicpower.com - good price - someone you can
talk to - will back up any problem - been around for 15 years.

I have bought 6 new engines from them - 20 sets of manifolds - no problems -
E-bay is dangerous country.

I would not give them the time of day..sent me a wrong part and told me I WAS WRONG and not to bother them with another order (don't worry, I won't) and after sending them pictures of the catalog item and what they sent me, I never even got a reply. They can kiss my...go to Moore..quality you can trust

Buying anything from anybody over the i-net can be dangerous. Walking across the street can be dangerous.

However, my EBAY reference IS Moore Performance!

I have purchased several parts from ebasic with no problems. However, their prices on manifolds are high compared to others. (IMHO) And their service charge if your order is small is prohibitive cost wise. But they do stock parts!

Re: Good source for new manifolds?

I had the same exact experience as Robby6950. Ebasicpower has great prices and I have always received the parts in a timely fashion. But when I received a defective part and returned it, and ordered the same part from them again, and received another defective part I called them about it. To say they were rude would be a major understatement! I was told not to ever order from them again, and that's what I intend on doing.

Re: Good source for new manifolds?

Nice to know I'm not alone about EBasic. Rude beyond imagining. Like they don't even WANT to be bothered with taking your money. And this was a 14 dollar thermostat (they never did credit my order either). Anybody else have this problem with them? I'm going to copy this and move it to the Non-Boating complain section and see what replies it gets.
