Any suggestions on a good dog PFD? I just bought one from Country Max called Fido Float, though I am a little wary of the quality. It has handles, though it looks like it could be made of better quality.

generally speaking, since dogs can swim, you typically need them to keep the pooch afloat long enough to trun around and go get him. Few look at them like they would survival gear for offshore solo treks. Seems that since you already got one, why worry?

I think I am going to return the one I got, it looks more cumbersome than helpful. I guess the main reason I am interested in one is for the handle

O'Brien makes some nice one's. Easy on and off also.

Ruffwear is what my doggies float around in. Gives full support when lifting a 120 lb Lab onto the swimdeck. They run a tad small in their size recommendations ie. if you think you need a medium, you'll be better off with the large. Top quality materials and design.

We use an Outward Hound DFD (doggie flotation device). It has a handle on the top that makes it easy to snatch the pooch up.

Have used several, and the best are the ones with a full chest wrap for support and protection.

Also make sure it is snug enough the dog won't slip out if he goes into the drink.
