me and my grandma lure (thanks gonefishin) were
trolling for musky in the thousand islands...
fish on! (holding my pole so I know it's a fish)
2 seconds later I'm snagged and line is goin out
like mad. "gonna run outa line!" my cuz masterfully
reverses the boat as I quickly pick up line.
get to the snag and the fish takes off again.
it's a 29" pike and she's got major scrapes on
both sides from the rocks. somehow grandma caught
her with the middle hook under the jaw btw the
gills. after major surgery to remove the hook,
she was released and had enough power left to
dive outa site :D
perhaps we'll meet again some day?

Re: good fishin stories

So ya got some battle scars on her did ya MY..Once they are hooked they ain't coming off unless you zing the line...Was out gator fishn this year with a guide when across the radio another guide called and said he needed some help.
When we pulled up he had a 47incher in his left hand and a musky killer lure inbedded in his other arm. First guide cut barb and next thing you know end disappeared in arm from tendon retraction..needless to say ER had some fun trying to get this one out.....All I can say is that you better have right stuff when trying to pull em in green..This guy didn't have a net nor cradle..Better Luck next year MY..I too got skunked this year up north..Go grandma...

Re: good fishin stories

They were most likely competeing for a female or breeding spot. My fish in my tanks do it all the time ( oscars )
