No,this is not a solicitation to sell.I just thought I'd post it to give you all an idea of the kind of deals that surface regularly round here.Unfortunately I am not in a position to take advantage of it right now.

15' Boat 75hp motor w/trailer - $400 (Post Falls)
Date: 2012-09-26, 10:35AM PDT

For sell 1973 Waconda, 15' Fiberglass Runabout with 75hp outboard and trailer. It has been a project boat for a couple of years, I have made it to hold my family of ten and still get a good hydro plane. The motor is 2 stroke 75hp in good shape for being a 1963 Johnson Super Seahorse, she is fast. I have replaced the starter so I would never again have to pull start this beast. I been customizing this boat over the last couple of years, it has a fish finder, Top with extra custom to cover whole boat with shade. It does have a trolling motor which needs a new switch. It is super fun to tube, haven't tried skiing maybe because I'm a chicken. Boats licensed till the end of the year and trailer is good for two years (in Idaho). . Idaho does not require titles of boats over a certain age, but I do have both titles for Washington, boat and trailer. I will include some life vest too about 4 or five, a few adult and some youth. Boss lady wants it gone

Re: Good Deal

From that write up I would be VERY cautious ... very fast, holds 10 people, hydro planes ... but only has 4 or 5 life vests ... a bunch of sketchy things there for me.

Re: Good Deal

probably true, but the point I am making is not what he did or does with the boat but the fact that you have here a boat ,motor and trailer for $400.Just about any one of the three is worth that, assuming they are all sound.that would be determined by your inspection. I recently bought a 16 foot boat ,on a trailer, with a 35 evinrude and a 10 Johnson for $150.00.I got my money back with the big twin which now runs like a watch, everything else is jam.
I'm not saying the guys boat is marvelous, just that the deals are out there, you just have to keep your eyes open for them .

yes there are some good deals. i just picked up a 1982 12 foot valco that is pretty beat, but it is a wide body! really nice trailer, and a 74 johnson seahorse 15hp. motor runs, just not great. got the whole package for 400.
just picked up a 88 evinrude 6hp longshaft last night for 180.00!
