Youngest son (15) and I went out yesterday in the new-to-us Glastron. The weather was perfect, boat ran great, Lake was nice, very good time on the water.

It was his first experience driving a boat and he did very well. He docked it first try and even had to circle a while until the ramp we wanted cleared.

Here is a 30 second vid during cruising...:

Here is a now mandatory (to me) holeshot video...:

Always good to see the good boating life passing on to the youngsters. I was just doing the same with my younger daughters

... Always good to see Dad's doing anything with their kids. Even better when it's hang in' out on boats together. My middle kid and I probably the biggest boat buds, and she's been leaning to drive and dock. But all the kids like to go out, really.

Boat looks good Maclin.

Thanks southkogs, It was a really good time, hard to work in this kind of day as the kids are pretty busy almost all year with Band.

Great Stuff. 3 people I trust with our boat.
Myself
My 2 sons.
They have never given us a reason to think otherwise and are extremely responsible on the water. I also really enjoy being a passenger when I can as well :)

Life keeps movin' faster and faster, doesn't it? I can't believe how busy we get sometimes. When you can find those moments ... grab 'em.

Good for you guys! :thumb: My kids have never been interested, I had to hijack them once in awhile when they were young.

My youngest daughter (12) has been piloting the boat for a few years now, but always with Daddy within arms reach and watching VERY carefully. She is currently completing her "Safe Boating" course and then Daddy will be a little farther away when she pilots, but still watching VERY carefully and still ultimately in command. In a couple more years she may be able to solo ... when she (and I) are ready ...
