Re: golden jet Need Info

Golden Jet was built by Eska I don't have Golden jet numbers but Golden Jet 700 appears in 66/67 7 is dropped in 75.It is a 2 stroke with an air cooled Tecumseh power head and a water cooled exhaust leg.Motors before 67 use
a tube to circulate water pushed by the prop later motors have a pump.
Typical problem areas are the fuel pump if used(located in carb mount flange) , the impeller and the solid state ignition. 69 and older motors use 16:1 fuel mix,70-73 use 24:1 74-up use 32:1 use quality 2 stroke oil or TCW3 rated oil.(As stated in my aftermarket ser.manuals 55-85)
66-68 use a Tecumseh V58 power head(split crankcase)68 uses AV600 Unit block,69-71 use AV750(unit block),72-74 use AV817(unit block)
You may be able to find power head parts at a small engine shop.
Eska built motors as Explorer,Federal,Golden Jet,Hanimex,Hiawatha,Pathfinder,Seaco,Seacruiser-Grant,Sea King,Sea Hawk,Sears,Skipper,Sportfisher,and Wizard.
