Gold Cover?

Hi all... I have a 1996 Johnson 25hp, and the top cover paint is gold colored. Most of the Johnsons I've seen are OMC white. I've seen references in the forum to commercial or military versions, and wonder if the color is signifying something.

I have a '91 25hp that is gold too. They were basically made for the government. Mine is in great shape and had very low hours on it when I got it a few years ago.
