Man, if I had the room. Boat is going to scrap yd, the motor blew and it's been sitting outside uncovered for 6+ yrs. the scrap us is giving him .40 pound. The interior wood is rotted , the owner is just done with it. I bought the Motor for next to nothing and he offered the boat to me for what the scrap yard is giving him. But he's keeping the trailer. So that would be an issue to get . Seems like such a shame, but it's definitely gonna need a complete int makeover.

Yes that is a shame......only getting .40 /lb because he is not stripping it out. If he gutted it it would bring three times that amount or more. Shame someone doesn't jump on that one and do a restore. Lots of work but.......compare that to the ridiculous cost of a new one.

Hull looks to be in terrific shape. Regardless of the interior, no engine and no trailer if it were close enough I would find a way to have it in my back yard until my Alumacraft is finished. I personally think the owner is a fool.

Room or not, I would pick it up and store it until I could restore it, that hull looks way to good to let it go to scrape.

He WISHES he was getting $.40 a pound.

No way a scrap yard is gonna pay that for plastic, glass, wet soggy rotted wood and carpet.

Aluminum $.85
Aluminum recycle (cans) $.58
Aluminum breakage with 50% recovery $.29
Aluminum breakage with less than 50% recovery, $.14

Roscoe, I know prices vary around the country and not sure where you or the poster is from but in my area alum is almost 2 bucks a pound, clean alum scrap goes for 2.40/lb.

Believe me, I've thought about, I don't have the room. I have my main boat in the garage and the Alumacraft I'm restoring in my driveway. I don't think the owner cares about what he's gonna get for the hull, super nice guy though,
I bought the blown motor-2000 Johnson 225, 24v 74 lb trolling motor(works ) and the 2 crest liner seats for $260

I'm in WI, boat is registered in Michigan, price quotes are midwest average as posted online from April 2nd..

Hard to believe Ohio is paying 3-4x more.

All the price quotes I see for OH are in line with the ones I posted earlier.

.50-55 for cans
.30 for scrap 1
.20 for scrap 2

Well all this being said, it is really a shame to let such a nice looking boat to go to hell like that! I just bought a boat I have to have shipped, so I know that wife ain't going to be to thrilled if I buy another one, especially one that has to be rebuilt!

Let's just say the boat hull dry weight is 1000lbs, nice even number, X 0.40 is $400.00. I think that hull is worth more than that even in it's current condition. Not sure I'd want to make a 4-5hr drive down and around thru Chicago pulling an empty boat trailer though.

Boat is in SE Mi, pretty sure it was going to to be scrapped today. That's why I had to get the motor off Saturday. Ya, pretty sure you could have got the boat and motor for around $500-600.

A real shame to see it go to a crusher. Hull looked as if it had a lot of life left in it. But oh well!
