Going to spend a week on the boat

Yup thats right kids, Putting in on Monday and going to pull out on Saturday. Just figured I would brag a bit Don't know where we are going to go, it will be the Chesapeake bay or Carolina loop. I don't think I have ever spent this long on my boat. Any tips?

Should be a nice trip, but you will realize how small your boat is after that amount of time on it. They are made for
a long weekend, and a week is about maximum.
Tips, make sure you take excursions off the boat whenever you can, use it for travel and sleeping most of the time.
Eat dinner out often, bring some basic tools, spare parts etc just in case. Fill your wallet to the brim with money before
you leave, you will need it.

Have fun most of all.

Oh yeah we are gong to take one of the cats with us. We often do weekend trips, we have been talking about having a boat cat. We just got a kitten so she will become the boat cat.

wait a minute...you're going to spend a week on the boat until saturday and then get married that same day!?!

as far as advice...i'm really particular about making sure clothes, toys, utensils always go back to where they are stored immediately. also 2 batteries?

Sorry for the confustion. We are getting married on Satuday and then heading out on the boat Monday until the following Saturday. I have noticed from the times we stay on the boat keeping it clean is a daily chore. I take the top side and she takes the below.

I'll agree with you in terms of being on the hook. Staying at nice, resort-like marinas is a different story. Granted, my boat is a bit bigger, but we've done a week a couple of times. Layovers in Shinnecock, Greenport and West Hampton. As long as there are things to do and places to go during the day, it's great. We really only used the boat for cooking and sleeping.

agallant, bring a couple of folding camp chairs and a small folding table so you can hang out on the dock. I have a table similar to this (this one is actually nicer) and it tucks in next to my helm seat along the coaming. Takes up no room at all...

Remember, less is more. Try to minimize the amount of junk you haul aboard. There will be places along the way where you can buy stuff you use up, run a quick load of laundry, etc. I didn't have the opportunity this season to take an extended trip- I envy you!

My wife is OK for a ride to dinner, has to be in sight of land, and does not fish. So,,,, I have had many nights on the boat alone, some long trips, some just overnight. The current boat has few amenities but I don't need much. Next trip-- Charleston SC next month.

Sunday we are seeing family off. Brunch after the wedding then giving them the boot out of town.
