I'm vacationing in New Smyrna next week, was wondering about the shore or pier fishing in the area, I want to go crabbing and fishing. I've been here before and crabbed at
a couple small piers around Edgewater and did fair. I'm looking for some suggestions of other places to try. and what might be biting.

Try south at Sebastion Inlet, I haven't fished there in years but the mullet may be running at the time and you can catch anything from Kingfish, Snook, Redfish to an occasional large amberjack. Fact is I won an award for the largest fish caught off land back in the seventies. About a 60?lb Amberjack and I can't remember it might have been 40ish lb fish. Anyway never could have landed it without the help of some shark fishermen with long gaff's.

PS If the wind is blowing out of the NE at about 20-30 knots, that is one wet cold place to fish

Good luck if you go

Ponce inlet is a lot closer, you can go to Turtle mound there is pretty good fishing there, bring lots of bug spray, they dont call it Mosquito Lagoon for nothing.
