Going for a Tune Up...

I am just finishing up a restoration on my new (old) pontoon boat. As the finishing touch I am going to take the motor in for a tune up.

I have a 2000 Johnson 70hp 2 stroke. Other than my test drive, I don't think it has been used much, if at all, in the past year. This is my first boat, so I am looking for tips on what to have done, questions to ask, or things I should avoid.

impeller replaced, lower unit oil changed, and you need to check every fall before the 1st freeze for water intrusion. it will save a crack lower unit from water expanding. change plugs, check compression and have it recorded for future use. possibly carbs cleaned and rebuilt if it hasn't been run in quiet a while.
