Going directly to 'new' postings since last visit.

I visit this site a couple of times per day and I must have some of my settings wrong because when I click on 'new' in a thread I go to the first posting. I'd love to be able to pick up where I left off last reading like I do on other sites. I'm sure it's just a setting I have wrong but I've spent at least an hour trying to change things with no luck so I'm crying Uncle! Help please. Thanks for such a great site. I'd also like to change my user name to what I use on a couple of other boating sites if it's possible.

You should be able to click the "Go to New Post" at the top of each thread and it will take you to the newest post since you last visited. Message me what username you would like to use.

I'm still not able to go to the 'new' postings in a thread that were posted since my last visit. I click the small icon that is to the left of the thread title and it takes me to the first posting. I end up going to the last posting and working back from there.

When I first log on the message board I click the 'Whats new?' button on the top left and makes a list of all the updated topics. Then click the little arrow thingy for the updated post(s) on those topics.

That is what I do too except when I click on the little arrow thingy I get sent to the first post in the thread. It cost a lot of time finding the updated postings. I'm on half a dozen other forums and have no such problem.

What browser are you using?

Also be aware that the way the software works it that it will initially show the first post, but then it will go to the first NEW one... If you have a slow connection it may appear to stop at the first post of the thread. Give it a few seconds and it should move down to the first new one....
