I recently purchased a bottle of GOEX pinnacle black powder. When I got it home, I discovered they were long and wedge shaped rather than flat and round for a specific caliber like many of the other premeasured BP.

I'm unclear on how to load these:
Does the apex or base of these wedges go against the breech?

Helpful advice appreciated.

The only black powder I have ever used is FF or FFF, the kind that smokes. If you arent sure best to consult the handbook for the gun. No guessing allowed unless you have a death wish. I have a 50cal and a 44 cal kentuckey pistol and an 1857 colt 36 cal replica. Dont know about modern rifles.

I also have a few other black powder long guns (flintlocks) which only like the real BP deal. I tried a few replica powders with miserable results. The GOEX pinnacle is for my new TC Triumph which I have been experimenting with a few different replica powders and bullet combos for the past month or two. Unfortunately the manual does not indicate any load data for powders other than pyrodex RS and pyrodex pellets. I had e mailed GOEX a few days ago without receiving any acknowlegement.

The GOEX pinnacle gets good reviews for being clean and staying "un-fouled" however...... their product support is lacking.

I use alot of Goex true BP when building my special effects and I like it alot..........

I would place the widest part of the wedge against the breach.

Got pictures of the wedges?

I'd put the pointy side up, although I suspect it doesn't matter. I would assume that it will be crushed when you seat the bullet and guess that the pointy end is to make sure it crumbles.
