The viewing, trading, buying, selling of child porn harms children. Without the market, there would be much less sexual preying on them.Originally posted by JamesCoste:
I just pray that he never harmed any young children by acting on his sinful thoughts.
A little late chiming in on this but I find your amusement nearly as disturbing as the story itself matt. In addition to your finding some perverse delight in the aberrant behavior of others, you are particularly delighted it was found at the unfortunate feet of the Boy Scouts. What is it you have against civic and community groups that by and large add immeasurable quality to our nation? You even said it yourself that it is not indicative.

There are jerks like this guy in every facet of our society; it just doesn't make great press to run a story about a local grocery clerk, heavy equipment operator, or mid-level manager in a manufacturing plant who engages in his or her fetish or perversion.

The problem here is the protection or acceptance of so-called "normal" activity by those who seek freedom to do just about anything. These people are making it more difficult every day to stop freaks like this guy from pursuing his interest. I don't advocate the establishment of censorship but should we be so willing as a society to accept every oddball and his quirks as just another "individual who has a unique way of expressing himself"?Originally posted by mattttt25:
not a smear campaign at all. i just find it a bit amusing when organizations like this find someone in their ranks that goes against everything they stand for. much like the catholic church. i'm smart enough to realize it's just a few indiviudals, and not indicative of the organization. but it's amazing how these people get to the positions they do.
