Yep, we are at Watkins Glen this week for our next to last race before the Chase. With only 1 of the 16 Chase slots filled with a non-winner (Ryan Blaney and Martin Truex, Jr nipping at his heels), these next 2 races could majorly change the makeup of the Chase. Time will tell.
Watkins Glen International race course is in upstate New York and features 7 turns with 141 feet of total elevation change over the 2.45 mile track. The race is 90 laps long and will cover 22.5 (correction 220.5) miles, unless they need overtime to finish, or the rain that is expected on Sunday actually happens. This is the 39th trip to Watkins Glen International for the Cup Series, with the first visit in 1957. Kyle Larson is the defending winner of the race.
Practice for Sunday's race is Saturday at 12:05PM ET with qualifying at 1:05PM ET. Green flag racing starts at 3:05PM ET Sunday afternoon.
Make your picks and let's go racing, boys!
