Glue for the letter "E"?

So my Wife's Saab 9-5 has the letters SE on the side and the top part of the plastic letter E was hanging off.

I have plenty of glues, but don't want to take a chance and use one and make the paint blister from some type of reaction with the glue.

I know they come new with a sticky back foam on them. Should I hunt around at an auto parts store and see if they sell that stuff or is there something else I can use that won't harm the finsh yet can be removed if need be?

Thx

Not hard to hunt, 3M sells "moulding tape" or some similiarly named form of a "2 sided sticky foam." That's what I would use.

Great stuff. Very secure. Chances are that you will find many other uses for the roll. It is a med gray color tape with a pinkish plastic pull off cover strip.

It is probably available at most autoparts stores or at least one that sell body shop supplies.

Ditto - moulding/emblem tape is great stuff. You will find other uses for the rest of the roll. It is available at any auto parts store and many walmarts.

Even better is a 3M Moulding and Emblem adhesive...comes in a tube and is less obtrusive than the tape for something like the letters you describe.

I know the grey double sided tape works great. I put 4 quarter in by quarter in squares on a 6 pound battery to hold my RC plane starter on (thats 1 sq. in only) and after 3 years it stuck so good the top of the battery started coming off.

Double sided carpet tape, cut to shape, would probably work.

ditto with the 3m molding adhesive<<< 3m molding foam tape would be my first choice and the 3m liquid/gel would be second....I have tried out of the toolbox adhesive before with poor results goop etc.....The carpet tape thing is a realy great idea in a pinch/temp emergency repair but I dont think it will last long it dont hold up to moisture good.
