Okay so what do yall think of GLM products?? I have found some brand new exhaust manifolds for $699 a set, with everything needed, with guess what? Free shipping.. I love free shipping:D 3 year warranty.. I am sure I may upgrade the boat by then.. Can't find any reviews on their stuff. So was wondering if anyone has tried them?? I figured I would ask since I almost used Mallory parts till I was educated by folks who know...

I have heard hit and miss with them. If you get them you need to really check the flatness of the mating surfaces of the manifold riser joint. Osco is USA made but not sure if thy make the 4.3L manifolds with risers for OMC.

I have contacted them in the past and they gave a prompt reply.

I am one of the unlucky ones to experience GLM manifolds and risers. Stay away!!!!! They are made in China and are junk!. Surfaces are not flat, cracks throughout, porosity, etc.

While I have not used their manifolds, I have used other parts of theirs with less than satisfactory results....

I can also vouch for Osco making good products, but I've heard it's hit or miss with the GLM's. I found the best price for mine at ebasicpower.com, but I don't know about their OMC stock.

I've had good luck with Aftermarket Marine. I don't know if they have the specific manifold you need, but if they do, their prices are good. I believe they carry Barr and Osco.

I have purchased one set about three years ago. I was lucky. Except for a few left over metal chunks from forming process that were clunking around inside, they still work good. Used in sweetwater. Like other above. Need to check the mating surfaces.

I contacted them to say what I have heard about their stuff... Naturally no response.. I guess that right there should say something eh?? Made in China... Well so is everything at Wal-Mart.:p. Can't think of much that comes from China that I bought that was good.. well we did eat Chinese food tonight.. It was pretty good:D Still not sure what I should do.. $400 is alot of money to go American on something that wears out anyhow.. OEM would be nice.. These on it now have lasted 23 years...

Did you look at the link I gave you? A complete set - manifolds and risers and gaskets is only $485. (Plus shipping). I don't know enough about OMC to know if they fit your application or not... but it would be a good idea to check.

Re: GLM products, Exhaust Manifolds

I put GLM manifold and riser on my 3,0l last spring and they seem OK.

The quality of finish was poor though, there was sand from the casting showing through the paint on the inlet passages and when poked with a screwdriver, lots of paint flaked off revealing loads of sand underneath. I cleaned all the sand off and the metal seemed solid behind though.

I can believe that there can sometimes be problems with porosity.

I dont use their products. I tried... Lord I tried... You should pass on this deal and head for better quality parts. Does the three year warranty include your engine if they leak?

The main issue I have had with them is the fit is always off. From gaskets to risers their stuff is junk. The manufacturing materials used are always of the lowest quality.

Just think how much work it will be to put all that exaust stuff in and the rest of the stuff thats been removed.

then take it all out and do it all over again.

Re: GLM products, Exhaust Manifolds

Stay away from GLM. Used them on a small block chevy , one year later , the motor didn't want to idle well. Hard starting, bad exhaust manifold port side, hairline crack in the GLM casting letting water into the cylinders. (50 hours of use). Took both of them of (threw them away)and replaced with a Barr, higher price, huge difference in quality. If I had to replace the motor because of the crack, that would of set me back 3-4K. So the good deal, is not so good.
