Glastron sx177 Engine Volvo Penta 3.0 Replacement

Hi Guys,
Im just about to purchase a Glastron SX177 With a Volvo Penta 3.0l Inboard. The engine as been stripped and left to the elements, so can only presume is not fit for rebuild. So my question is can i replace the engine for a 4 litre or even a 5 litre. or shall i just replace the whole engine. Or scrapp the idea and just buy it to brake it? its for sale for ?2k?

Ani ideas?
