Hey everybody how is it going?

I've been in the market the last couple months for a basic budget center console fishing boat. That could use some TLC but isn't a total wreck or repair storm.

This is the first time I have come across a Glastron Sea Fury. I am pretty familiar with and Seacraft, Macos and other CC's, but was curious on what the word is about this hull design.

How do these ride? Is there any common problems I should look out for with this specific hull? Good? Bad? Terrible?

I haven't been able to pull up many answers or reviews of these older gen boats.

I plan on taking a 2 hr drive to check this out this Saturday.

Much appreciated.

More information on this boat -

Im not sure of the year, But the seller says the motor is a 1997 OMC ocean runner 200.
T top obviously
40 gal tank w/ water separator
Steel prop
New coil pack & coils
Tilt/trim motor
and the odds and ends like fish finder, GPS ect ect

Do you guys see anything of a worry here? Can you guys tell the year? Im going to guess late or early 80's?

He says everything runs and functions great, just needs some TLC from some cracks and age. Which is fine, being I want a boat that could use some updating.. I actually want a project boat, as long as it runs and floats properly.

Well I have pictures but cant post them..

I've already read similar write ups and buyers guides like that.

What I'm curious about is your opinions and if this hull is junk or has a common problem and issue to stay away from.

from my experience.. Glastron has been in business for a long time.... they make a good product... that said... do your home work.. its all about condition, condition... I would say Glastron is certainly not junk. I would not hesitate nor worry over a Glastron Boat. Pay attention to the trailer too... the boat could be fine and the trailer in poor shape.... inspect it all

Glastron makes a good boat. Brand wise, they're more toward the middle of the herd, but then again I drive a Bayliner ;)

That boat looks a little dirty, and I think I'm seeing some plywood on the floor. Condition is the key ...

Thanks for the replies.

Yea I know condition is everything on any boat. But that's my job, I just needed you guys to let me know if it's a crap hull or known for issues.

That said, my main concern is the trailer and the rusted spark plugs.

Won't know for sure until I see it but that's what you get with a $4k budget CC boat. At least in my area anyways. I don't mind a project, I just need the dam thing to float and power it self. The rest is the easy stuff, for me anyways.

I'm not scared of some minor fiber glassing and want a boat I won't be scared to tear down and reconfigure down the road.

Thanks you guys for the replies!

There's a classic Glastron forum of mn that I'm a member of. Those members on there know a lot about the brand!! Super friendly and helpful too.
