A FRIEND OF MINE HAS A '72 GLASTRON WITH A VOLVO 6 CYLINDER I/O. HE ASKED ME TO TAKE A LOOK AT THE MOTOR TO SEE IF THE HEAD GASKET WAS BAD, BUT I NOTICED THAT WHEN HE REMOVED THE COVER, THE FREEZE PLUGS WERE LAYING IN THE BOTTOM OF THE BOAT. HE SAID THAT THE BOAT HASN'T BEEN IN THE WATER FOR 2 YEARS. WOULD IT BE BEST TO INSTALL NEW PLUGS, PRE-LUBE THE MOTOR THEN TEST THE COMPRESSION OR TAKE THE WHOLE MOTOR OUT AND CHECK IT OUT FROM TOP TO BOTTOM.

THANKS FOR A RESPONSE!

Re: GLASTRON FREEZE PLUGS

Well, to start with, don't type in all caps, it's not easy to read........ as far as finding freeze plugs in the bilge, the block is probably full of cracks. better check it out real close and I don't mean just the outside. Pull the head and take a close look..............
