So i've just recently did a motor swap and my first boat. Its a 94 Capri 2050LS I'm new to the whole boating stuff and had no idea what I was doing. Long story short after the swap i got the new motor in and running, however I was unaware that it would need to be aligned upon installation. So I went for a test drive and burnt up the O-rings on my drive shaft and i'm going to assume the gimbal bearing seal and now I'm having to replace bellows etc. This is a 4.3 Vortec motor on an alpha 1 Gen 2 lower unit. I'm trying to find a list of all parts and or tools that would be needed in order to get it back out on the water before summer is over. Gimbal looked and feels ok still smooth when twisted and turned. Just really needing some input from anyone that can help. Thanks in Advance

welcome aboard

you need an alignment tool.

as for parts, you will know what you need once you remove the drive and inspect. you may also need a coupler, as that is usually what gets destroyed with bad alignment.

as for the process, its covered in the factory service manual available here https://publications.brunswick.com/

There are also videos in the stickies at the top of the forum
