The boat a few hunderd hour's and is 13 yrs old..yesterday i had the drive off and did change the knuckle's cheap and easy. The gimbal has never had water intrusion and the bearing's seem smooth as silk no roughness to them what so ever...So does a guy change them or wait for something.

Nowadays if it's a semi-quick access fix, I'll gladly wait :)

And since a gimbal bearing change only requires drive removal, that is what I consider quick access.

I changed mine last year. They were also silky smooth with no roughness but had water drops on the casing and who-knows-what inside. I'd rather not let it sit wet and rust. So I persoanlly say...no water intrusion, no trouble, no change.
