Gimbal bearing stuck, slide hammer stuck

My gimbal bearing is stuck and I used a friends axle bearing puller to try and get it out. Well now the end of the axle bearing puller is stuck behind the gimbal bearing, and the gimbal bearing isn't budging at all, making me think that my puller so trying to pull something else and not the bearing. So what's behind the gimbal bearing? And would could my puller possibly be stuck on?

There is a seal.. Not your problem
Pull harder.. Sometimes they are tough to get out..
Add saltwater and things get tougher..

Thanks I finally got it, it was definitely stuck in there good! It broke on the way out.
