I have a 1987 Bayliner with an OMC out drive, it's noisy at idle and worse when I turn . Been told its the gimbal bearing. How difficult is it to change.

Could easily also be the u-joints. How often do you pull the drive to inspect these and align your engine?

pulling the drive is not that hard. take it off and look. usually if you have a lot of noise and vibration the u joint is bad too.
