Here is the most recent article written about the Tillman family in the Phoenix paper. web page <br /><br />Why on earth would the Army lie about what really happened to him? They had to know that the truth would eventually surface and leave the Army with a black eye. <br /><br />Pat's story is truly a remarkable one. He is a real American hero.

Maybe they were trying to let him die a hero. In their eyes, it might have been ignominious that he died by friendly fire.<br /><br />I agree whole heartedly, he was the best of the best. What he sacrificed to serve his country in amazing by todays standards.
