getting ready to start test and adjust my evinrude 2.5

Hello ; I need to know if I need to buy a prop blank to use to test my engine in a trash can instead of just useing the original prop. Any info would be helpful because this is my first outboard I have ever worked on. Its a 1988 2.5 hp. I have worked on and repaired car engines, mopeds, lawn mowers , tillers, ect. both 4 cyl & 2 cyl. But I figure it never hurts to ask people that know more about this than I do. NOPE ,run it with the prop that is on it ,not enough power to warrant needing a test wheel
