Hello, You folks were kind enough to give me valuable info to install my impeller. Everything went smoothly. Now the problem is when I try to insert lower unit back in place, it seems the drive shaft does not want to push in. I got the shifter shaft in the correct hole to sinch up later and water tube is going in., It's a Nissan 4 stroke NSF6A2S 6hp. Thank You

If the drive shaft is "clunking" at the last inch of insertion, you are probably striking the end of the crank. Once at the splines, you may need a slight rotation of the crank or prop (if in gear) to get the splines aligned to slide together. It's a matter of "feel" to get the end of the shaft correctly aligned. Step away from the job for a while, have a cuppa, and go back to it. Even the most experienced mechanics occasionally run into that. I have personally "fought" with these on occasion, and after taking a break, they often "fall together".
