Trying to get back into skiing. Had trouble getting up on one ski last year. I was told that the ski I was using was to small. If I am 220 pounds and 5'8" what size ski should I look for?

What type of skiing are you doing? Recreational, buoys? I would say you need a 68" ski minimum, but a 69-70" will make deep water starts easier. Depends on the boat you were behind as well egarding the power it has. Were you starting 2 feet in or dragging a foot? So many variables here.

I'm 6' and 210 and can get up on a 67" ski, but the 19-20' boat has to have at least 200HP or so in order for me to be able to pop right up. I have even gotten up behind a 130HP jet ski with both feet in. Dragging your back foot until you pop up can help reduce drag a bit, but it takes some work.

I don't think 1-2 inches either way will be the difference in you getting up or not. A wide body ski would help alot more than a 67 to a 69. A good powerful boat with the right prop is what you are really after. As mentioned above dragging a foot makes up for alot of things the boat may be lacking power wise.
