Hi I have finally given in and will buy an OEM manual. I have found one on ebay, it is found at:

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4577238187

Can someone tell me if this is a geniune manual? Will be of more help then the clymer manual that i got from the library?
Also i got an 1985 4hp Johnson, I am presuming it is the same as the 1980 4hp evinrude, just different stickers, am i right or wrong?

Thanks for your advice

Re: Genuine Manual

That's the "real deal".

Be careful, the ignition systems may have changed from '80' to '85'.

Re: Genuine Manual

How can I find out if the ignition system changed. Do you know JB, did the ignition change in 5 years?

Don't know where you are, but I hoped you noticed the manual is in AU.

Re: Genuine Manual

Other than the wire connectors to the ignition coils, they are the same. They are both CD-2 ignition systems.
