general questune 1974 merc 1150

Hi guys and gals,<br />I know this isnt enough info, but am thinking about buying a boat with a 115hp merc 1974, inline 6. dont have serial number yet.<br /><br />in general, do any of you know if any probs with this engine/yr? anything I should ask/watchout for? guy says it ran great in Aug, but when he went out last week to start it, it would turn but not catch (which could be alot of things, Im not concerned about that right now).<br /><br />anyone advice/tips/look-out-for-this?<br /><br />thanks

u coulda done lots worse IMO.<br />thirsty girls, so fuel system from tank to carbs<br />needs to be working correctly or she's a dog.<br />always start with a new water pump impeller.<br />would R/R carbs and fuel pumps too and new fuel<br />lines/connectors.<br />good luck,<br />M.Y.
