I recently purchased a 1992 seadoo xp. It had some minor fuel problems that I repaired (carb cleaning, pickup lines ect.) and now it runs great hooked up to the hose. I am a snowmoblie guy and dont know that much about jet skis in general though so I need to know what else to check. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: General maintenence

Under the ski there is a pump. It is like a BIG vacuum cleaner. It can suck stuff off the bottom and ingest it. This is not good. Pump relacement is $$$$$$$. Operating in shallow water is an invitation to pump damage. Remember, when you crack the throttle the ski squats. By keeping plenty of water under your keel you are keeping the pump away from the bottom. It wouldn't be a bad idea to peek into the pump right now to see what thirteen hard years have inflicted on the pump impeller.
