gel seal or rtv black?

Im working on an L drive and im ready to re-install the lower unit. Do I mate the pieces with gel seal or rtv. Im not really a big fan of rtv! But ive never rebuilt a lower unit either, So what is the general concensus??

Ok well its all ready to go. I was looking and from what I see, it does not need to be water tight where the LU mates to the intermediate housing.... Correct???

correct, no sealant needed. Good Luck.
