Hello, i am getting ready to put back together the crank case for my johnson 60 hp. I have the gel seal and know that it has to go on the flat surfaces of both sides. where else does it need to be applied? it looks like the was some applied to outer surface of bearing assemblies and maybe some on grooves that are machined into both halves. my book doesn't go into detail, any ideas, thanks

Re: Gel Seal on Crank Case

All the flat metal to metal sealing surfaces, and it will not hurt if some spreads out into the seal and bearing pockets, but it is not required.
