I currently have three gel batteries on the boat and need to replace one. Will I have a problem if I replace one gel with a deep cycle liguid battery and leave the other two as gels?

Rule of thumb is do not mix technology in the same bank. If your batt are all operate/charge seperately, shouldn't matter. If they're always in parallel, might want to rethink ...

If you try and charge a agm, and lead acid at the same time you can have serious problem. They charge at diferent rates and the gel absorbs the charge faster. You will eventualy fry a battery. The only way to do it would be to have a switch and NEVER have both banks conected ( both on a battery switch).

Jim
