I am looking for a used gearcase for my 1979 Johnson 40HP, 40R79E. Does anyone know what years and HP of motors would be compatible? It does not have thru-hub exhaust. I also wanted to know if it is okay to change individual gears, or if they should only be changed as a set. Thanks for the help, P
