Gear Ratio?

I have a 1997 Johnson SPL 90 HP outboard and I am trying to determine the gear ratio. I have recently purchased the OMC manual for the outboard and the listed gear ratio for the 90 degree V4 is 13/26. Does that convert to a gear ratio of 2.0?

I ask here because I am trying to determine my best choice in a new prop and the gear ratio plays into that decision. The boat in question is a 1997 Glastron GS160 currently proped at 14x17 (alum) with a dry weight of 1058.

Thanks.

Re: Gear Ratio?

Yes: Engine turns 26 times to make the prop turn 13. Therefore the ratio is 2:1. Or another way to look at it, the engine turns twice to make the prop turn once.
