Gear oil whats the difference?

what the difference in gear oil? i know that on the bottle i brought it says not to use in OME electric gear shifts cases?

Electric shift gearcases need a "thinner" oil - lower viscosity - to operate correctly, especially in cold water conditions. From 1973 and newer, gearcases are strictly mechanical shifting and use a "thicker" higher strength oil.
