I am looking to purchase a 1999 Searay 180 135hp outboard. Everything has checked out except there seems to be excessive play on the propeller shaft.
We removed the prop and you can grab the propeller shaft and pull it in and out about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch. This seems a bit much. Does anyone know how much travel is normal????
