1966 mercury 650 65hp. motor runs great BUT...fluid is milky white and is leaking slowly from around the prop. reading other threads i see it might just be fishing line around there. i'm changing the water pump and seals in that location in a few days. how hard will it be to change the seal behind the prop? will i need professional help for that? have to take it off and take a look. any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Hi Flywhaler<br />My best suggestion is to obtain a manual and study up on this subject. this should let you know if this is a job you are willing to tackle. These things can go ether way. It can be a cake walk or a nightmare. With the age of your unit I would plan on it being on the more difficult side. Make sure you have a sourse for parts first. Sorry I don't mean to be negitive.
