I’m curious if my gauges can be repaired or have to be replaced. 72 gulfstream I/O
The fuel gauge doesn’t work but I haven’t traced that one… prob sending unit. My main concern is the temp gauge. It either reads pegged cold or pegged hot. Replaced the impeller and thermostat so I doubt it’s running that hot, besides it doesn’t have any signs of running 200+ degrees. Thanks for any help

Check all the connections. If there's one thing that can screw up a DC circuit it's a bad connection.

test the gauges and the sender.

gauges like fuel gauge and temp sender read 240 ohms at bottom of scale and 33 ohms at top of scale

agreed, a bad ground will cause issues

gauges can be repaired, however cost to repair gauges is about 5X the cost of replacing.

Some I/Os have a temp alarm sender as well as a temp gauge sender. temp alarm sender will short to ground when the motor overheats.

Do you have the temp gauge wired to the correct sender?
