Re: Gauages not compatable with MPI Engine
We've been plugging new engines into the current wiring harnesses with no problems. Now you might have a sender not matched to the guage and might have to swap the sender, but everything should work the same. Now the new engines are wired for the new smart systems, but will work with the old guages just fine. Fact, we've been repowering Yamaha sterndrives with new Mercruiser MPI's and plugging them into the same wiring harness with everything working. If you have a performace problem, its not due to the guages.
