I'm getting a little fuel leaking out of my airbox on my '94 60 HP Johnson and I want to replace the cork gasket. Is there supposed to be a gasket sealing compound used on this gasket or will the cork sandwiched between both halves of the air box be enough?

I would say fix the fuel leak.----But that leakage may be normal when tilting the motor up with carburetors full.----I see no need for a sealer.

Your over-engineering here. I run different ones without an airbox, louder but more power. Harder to start when cooler also.

Not a good idea...you are effectively leaning out the motor...longevity will suffer.
