I need help! I am looking to change out a crusader 454 to ___?______ diesel. The boat is a 25ft blackfin with a tower. What size will work best, and what size will fit?

All of Pascoe's articles are EXCELLENT. I'm thinking for a big block to diesel conversion you'd want to think about some of the yanmar conversion options. They're pretty compact and light, although I don't think Pascoe likes them for that reason...his perfect motor is a detroit 6V92 running low boost on the turbo. Another alternative may be the cummins 5.9L.

volvo penta and izuzu both make some excellent diesels. mercruiser offers a version of the cummings as well.
