Gas tank size - 1960 5.5HP Seahorse

Hi everyone,

I am waking up a 5.5HP old seahorse and need to buy a new gas tank. Would it make sense to go with 3 gallon gas tank and 5/16 fuel line? I was debating between the 3 gallon and 6 gallon gas tank. The engine will be mounted to a 12 foot boat.

Depends on the amount of use and the range you require. If you have a tank that is unnecessarily large you end up with lots of stale fuel.

Agreed. FYI, it came from the factory with a 6 gallon tank. Previous years came with a 4 gallon, which was plenty.

My 1984 6hp came with a 3 US gallon tank!
