Well in a bit of a pickle here and i going to bounce this off the members. In short i have quite of bit debris in my gas old rust. The tank is sealed under a new deck so i am not going to cut out the tank to clean it...what i am going to do is drain the tank...tilt the boat and flush it with water for several minutes. Use a wet vac to suck out the water and be done with it.
The flush prior to the wet vac will be thourgh enough there will no danger of explosion...literally filled to push out fumes and gravity siphoned for a few tank fulls. In the end there will be of course water in there but i have a summer of flushing followed up by a few treatments of heat....The engine is just a little 2.5 carbed dont see any problems there..Ok what am i missing.
I will tell you the tank was cleaned prior to install and i firmly believe it came for a carb head cleaning...Made simple i ran water under power thourgh the carb under power steamed the engine so to speak.....Had to rebuild the carb of course plugged every orfice it had. I am guessing the debris came in thourgh some kind of gas return system..Hmm it will be a while before i tinker like that again...
