There is some oily crud and/or gas varnish in the bottom of my 62 gallon crosslinked poly tank. What can be used to effectively remove this contamination and still be safe for the poly tank?

Thanks!

Re: Gas Tank Crud

In a poly tank I would leave it alone. It's normal for a coating to form on the poly unless you are talking about real crude floating around.

Thanks Bubba, I thought maybe it could be left alone. Its just a small film on the bottom and I figured maybe if it loosened the filters would catch the fine particles and hopefully the suspended stuff would burn off. I vaccuumed out all the old gas and water and the tank is completely dry now. I guess I will drop it back in the boat and get ready to put some new fuel in it.
