gas ratio for 4r71d

I've heard different things, what is right ratio for a 4hp 4r71D? thanks for your time!

4R71D = 1971
That engine does not have roller bearings on the crank and rod, I would use 24:1 ratio fuel mixture.

16:1 is probably what was speced for it

Actually the Johnson/Evinrude book says 50/1 for the mix. I have been gradually persuaded re:the lack of roller bearings and now I'm using 25/1 like others have suggested. They are fine little motors and run all day on a tank of fuel. I use a 71 Evinrude as my kicker. Best of luck. Rick.

Use 24:1, which is the current spec for sleeve bearing outboards.

A really great little outboard. . .best ever made.
